For Youth Music’s 10th Birthday, Rankin joins forces with a team of 70 artists and musicians. By ‘destroying’ their portraits (shot by Rankin himself) some of them, like Damien Hirst showed visual knowledge at highest level. More information about an exhibition and a book can be found at YouthMusic/Rankin.

Celebrating a city that elevated an artist’s graffiti to more than a factor in today’s pop culture, André teams up with Incase for the fifth installment of their collaborative project with Arkitip. The products came just in time for the opening of the first Apple Retail Store in France. André masterminded the leather and caught the vibrancy of Paris. Curated by Arkitip project.

Mobile Dining is a beautifully crafted furniture/product by Nobuhiro Teshima in 2006, might come in handy for high-brow picnic parties.

Levis new “art partnership” with Sagmeister

Levis_Threads Poster_Page_1Levis_Threads Poster_Page_2

Levis’ history of involvement in the art world has been historic to say the least, involving iconic artists such as Warhol and Shepard Fairey, and now they have their sights on graphic design genius Stefan Sagmeister and his company Sagmeister, Inc.  The first bit of the work I’ve had the pleasure of studying with my eyes is this 2-part poster above, installed as a window display at the American Rag boutique in L.A. (the setting for this particular campaign).

Prater Chair by Marco Dessí

14

Contemporary reflection of traditional Viennese chairs as designed by Marco Dessí, consistently beautiful. Highly rigid but yet it seems such a comfort to sit on – would love to own quite few for my future household,  a possible commission perhaps.

Chris Scarborough’s illustrated work is intricately detailed but accentuated by beautiful and fluffy toning and his photography work is highly distinctive with his retouching on each.

Poses I by Red de Leon

Picture 416

Poses I is a reference book made by Red de Leon, a photographer based in Brooklyn, NYC. Made for photographers, models, editors, art directors, and stylists to aid in the previsualization of fashion shoots. It contains more than two hundreds images illustrating a variety of standing, laying, sitting, crawling and kneeling poses, with subtle differences in mood and gesture. By showing several variations of shot types, the book attempts to show the importance of framing and articulation of the body. The end goal is to provide the photographer and creative team with a selection of different shots that can serve as a starting point in preproduction discussions.

Just the idea of having the terms “vegetable” and “juice” in the same sentence makes me cringe…

    • Jeggings

      jeggings
Jeggings are so vile, it shouldn’t be even sold on black market.

    • Ctrl.Alt.Shift Christmas Grenades

      gren2
If there are still people willing to look at grenades during Christmas, then there’s something wrong. And we shouldn’t even discuss how this is a cliché. By the way Dorothy designed these for Ctrl.Alt.Shift.

    • Mullet

      mullet
Not the seafood, but the hairstyle. It’s so wrong, no should ever get away with it, even as a fashion statement.
